I know a few eatable plants. I am getting a book for eatable plants for the wild.
*Dandelion leaves (Can be cooked up like a green leaf veggie.) *Cat Tail bulbs (Can be cooked up like a potato!)

hate to say it, but those mountains have lots of rattlesnakes, which actually do taste like chicken. anybody know how to prep a snake?

I do. It's been a long time but it's easy to do.

I do also, but not an enjoyable task. As far as rattlesnakes are concerned, I have a box of mothballs - that could be used as a deterrent. Snakes hate mothballs for some reason. Could use those as a barrier around a campsite?

Great suggestion. Also we need to train people on how properly kill a snake and how to avoid to get bitten.

I know I will not be good at the rattlesnake thing. I will have to learn!
